x Finale: inserting Piano part with only 1 staff

From windows, score management insert a new instrument... specifically in another piano, as if you were writing music for 4 hands.

Afterwards press the violin-shaped icon, several small white squares will light up, right-click on the one closest to the staff clef that you want to eliminate to reduce the staves to three (from the initial 4). Press delete and reposition.

Once done you have 3 staves, but you must choose how to manage the brace.

If at playback level you want to obtain a good result for dynamics, it is better to start with 3 staves of standard pf (which means 6 in total for 3 braces), for each pair you delete 1 so as to obtain three staves per independent pf at the dynamics level....then there would be the matter of managing the pedal, but that's another story

Starting from a project that already has the 2 piano staves, after pressing the clef icon you can also choose "New empty staves" from the "Staff" menu, select 1 (already pre-filled) ... and you're done

To go from 2 to 1, follow this part of the procedure indicated by Dante

if i wanted to add a brace at the beginning of each line that collects the 3 staves (just for reading clarity), how should i do it?

The magic function is always the treble clef icon

This time, with the right mouse button, you will hover over the topmost small square and on the brace to remove the one on the first 2 staves (delete group)

Then, on the small square near the clef (the one for the first of the 3 staves), using the right mouse button again, select "add group and brace"; a menu will open where you must choose:

- All measures

- Upper staff

- Lower staff

- Barline (through staves)

- Type of brace (curly bracket)

sorry, I don't want to abuse your patience but it has been a long time since I last used Finale!

i imagine that even this latest doubt can be resolved with a click. so...

i wrote a guitar part, very simple, just chords in ostinato.

to hear the overall harmonic effect, I transcribed all the notes of every chord into the score; however, I would like to make it so that only the rhythmic profile of this ostinato is displayed (so making only one note appear for each chord) while maintaining the simultaneous playback of the notes of each chord. I know it can be done because I remember having already done it.

- I go to 'apply style'

- I choose the style I want and click OK
