Hello, thank you for accepting me into the forum. Here is my first question to you: I would like to interface my Yamaha 775 workstation with Logic X.
Since this keyboard records in multi-track, I wanted to do the same with Logic. I have connected the keyboard via USB cable and I see that Logic recognizes it; at this point, how should I proceed to start a multi-track recording? Help meeeee

It depends on what you mean by multitrack recording. Multitrack recording can be in real time and not. Example: you are a 4-piece band and you have to record 4 tracks simultaneously (one track for each instrument). Or it can be non-real time, meaning you record a first track, go back to the beginning of the recording and record the second track which is added to the first, and so on for the total number of tracks. Which of the two cases?

Hello, perhaps I explained myself poorly, I am an amateur in this matter; since the Yamaha 775 records songs in MIDI format, meaning sixteen separate tracks, I wanted to know if Logic can record those sixteen tracks

I also had Logic and a Yamaha, but I never managed to record the 16 MIDI tracks simultaneously.
So I recorded them one at a time by opening a MIDI track on Logic and playing the Yamaha, one track of the song at a time using Solo mode.

Recording 16 MIDI tracks simultaneously naturally requires as many interfaces as there are MIDI tracks to be recorded on the 16 input channels. Normally, 16 MIDI tracks are never used together at once. I have never personally encountered such cases. The MIDI protocol is very convenient for using virtual instruments. During the composition of a piece, one track is recorded at a time.
