However, I can express myself based on the instruments I have happened to play or listen to. Mechanically, I prefer Kawais, especially those equipped with the Millennium III carbon fiber action. As far as sound is concerned, I prefer Yamahas: they sing more and everything is more "open," crystalline.

But I tell you that I own a Yamaha C3 that has undergone some modifications by a very skilled technician (it's enough to know he was in the service of Benedetti Michelangeli) and it possesses a mechanism completely different from other specimens of the same model (it resembles a Kawai more than a Yamaha) and the timbre of a Steinway, with bass notes that make the floor tremble beneath your feet and highs that come out without difficulty, sweet and at the same time percussive. This is to make you understand that in any case, every instrument is unique and unrepeatable.
