recently I tuned a Zimmerman upright piano.
Even though it is an old piano (but with open action), I was pleasantly struck by the beautiful sound.
can you give me some more information about Zimmerman Pianos?

It is a Leipzig piano. House established in 1884. The models have improved greatly, especially the high-end models for uprights. Some grands also sound good. It is certainly a good brand. I cannot tell you more. In the past, when as a boy I wanted to discover beautiful sound and dreamed of having a good piano, Zimmermans seemed a bit harsh and not very "harmonic" to me. I loved the sound of the Ibach upright and was very much admired by Bluthner.
An older Zimmerman could belong to a good period (I don't like all of them). I don't want to be wrong, but in the 60s-70s I believe there was also a factory in East Germany (GDR).

Hi Pianotuning... Look, I also really liked the sound of the Zimmermann I tried... To tell the truth, the action was also really good.
I can tell you that the company is now owned by the Bechstein group...
