Good morning everyone!! I have been playing for years but I am still an amateur.. I see many of you are quite experts, so I am asking you for help!!!
After several years, I am about to realize the dream of buying myself a decent piano (upright due to space requirements). With my budget of 3000-3500, I prefer a used one over "cheap Chinese imports". In a shop in Rome, I found two alternatives at more or less the same price (3500): A '76 Yamaha U1 and a '92 Zimmermann (this one they might perhaps let me have for a bit less). The years are real, I have already verified them; both would be sold completely overhauled and tuned with a 5-year warranty, transport included. I like both even though they are different in sound. Which one do you recommend I choose for reliability? In general, does the price seem reasonable to you? Please please help meeee :unsure: Thank you!!!
Here is another one who, like myself, is about to fulfill his dream of buying an acoustic piano, congratulations!!, after some time I decided on a European one, the budget is the same as yours (about ā¬3000), but I am going through private sellers. The choice fell on an Essex by Steinway, even though the second choice (a '79 Schimmel) was truly tempting. Unfortunately, the Schimmel is too far away and the shipping costs would have impacted the price too much, but if you are interested I can send you the details.

thanks but I will stay in town.. it seems complicated to go far away. I am tempted by private sellers but I don't know enough about it to avoid getting ripped off; with a dealer, at least you know who to blame even if I believe it costs more..
