I agree with you pianoexpert... Music cannot be separated from technique because they are one and the same... it makes me smile to see Conservatory students who repeatedly study scales with maximum force or Hanon exercises with the same criterion. That is how you kill the soul... music is something else. From the very first lesson, I invite students to play with the right dynamics and the right balances even in the first Rossomandi exercises. The secret is not technical exercises, and unfortunately many, including Conservatory teachers, simply do not understand this. Perhaps because we are in a dimension less tangible than technique, and our society is always made of material certainties.
