Hello everyone,

I am new here.

I wrote my thesis in Humanities on Giovanni Allevi, so I believe I have studied the subject in depth.

Are you interested in a comparison with someone who has a different idea from yours?

Karl Jaspers argued that understanding and being able to explain are two activities that occupy different spaces, although the Italian university no longer understands certain things, especially in humanities.

Anyway, to quote Shakespeare, I assure you that all the earth in this world would not be enough to make me change my mind about Allevi.

If well-argued, it proves; for me, a single word was enough to not be disputed:

Silbermann wrote:

His pop music has nothing wrong with it.

It is not possible to argue the contrary; notes are better than a thousand words and are sufficient to define exactly the context of GA's music.

Very, very gladly... Practically speaking, that is the main purpose of a forum.

It seems to me that the topic starts from a discordant idea... it is also written in the subject

As long as they don't start saying again that his is classical music, because it would be wasted effort. I say this especially for Pink

... or absurdities like there is RAP in his music or other idiocies of that kind, over the years I have encountered the most disheveled paladins of nothingness.

Exactly Silbermann, he makes pop music and knows how to do his job well in the sense that he sells.

I think the discussion is pretty much exhausted.

Since it is a graduation thesis, something tells me that it will turn out that Allevi is the evolution of Mozart.

I think that a graduation thesis should rest on truthful foundations and analyze the facts without emotional involvement from the candidate. I would suggest waiting for Pink to write before boycotting her.

Boycott... what exaggerated terminology.

It's just that, those who know the conditions of Italian universities and the music world, how else could they ever get out of it?

A true analysis by Allevi? Starting from the premise that the opinion is discordant from what has been offered so far?

Come on... let's be a bit truthful for real for once and not just in words...

It is certainly not my intention to change anyone's mind.

Let everyone keep their own opinion.

But it is on another point that I would like to intervene, namely his second book, a text that is very difficult to find, which was cited in one of the previous posts.

"May 20, 2008, at 5:43 PM.

I kneel on the kitchen tiles, in front of the window,

with my eyes cast downwards.

Almighty God,

I entrust my soul to You.

Drive away from my heart

all thoughts and fears,

and make it free to love.

A sob arises from my chest, almost unexpected, and immediately I am seized by the spasm of a torrential weeping,

while my left hand is resting on the edge of the table.

I grip it as I grip the edge of the piano when I receive applause.

A dry weeping, without tears, like a vomit without substance.

If they noticed that something was wrong…..

I have invoked God since I fell into the darkness,

since a thousand fears took over.

That someone might want to harm me, that my success might trigger envy,

that the spontaneous love of the audience might change direction for a very trivial reason,

that a suffocating and morbid obsession might be unleashed against me…."

Excerpt from the opening of "In viaggio con la strega" by Giovanni Allevi - Ed. Rizzoli

How strange….

i have the feeling that the other users, at the idea of confronting a different voice rather than supporting each other, immediately vanished.

Returning to the subject.

Celibidache claims that Allevi's thought is

...entirely permeated by a pressing implicit contempt, envy, and sarcasm for any composer who is not him.

Deeply uneducational for young people…

My impression (and I want to reiterate my personal impression) is totally opposite.

The point is: if we want to talk about it, following the topic title, I am here. Otherwise, it was nice meeting you all.

Forgive me Pink, unfortunately I have very little time to be virtual...

Sincerely... the composition is for me just another confirmation of my personal thesis.

When a person does something in one way, they do all other things in that same way...

We always forget that these are phrases taken from a book (which probably should increase its notoriety... It seems like self-propaganda stuff, in short.

Surely propaganda in the savage state...

But before publishing certain things, if I were his artistic director, I would have them "purged" of certain symptoms of mental fragility.

Provided that the target isn't actually to attract a "certain type" of audience... or to induce tenderness by showing them clearly.

There is material for a degree thesis, I must admit. However, not in literature, but in the psychological field.

A comparison is a way to grow, it is not an act of force but rather a stimulus towards new horizons.

What I cannot understand is the mystery surrounding your thesis.

If you want to argue, then argue.

Now I am even curious.

Splendid words...

As long as Pink isn't actually Radicchio in disguise... otherwise I fear there will be no trace of any thesis...
