In my opinion, yes; the attack is different compared to the bow and highlights the rhythm of the triplets more, especially where the dynamics are not pp (and at measure 6 ... they disappear)

I note that in the last part, the use of the bow for violins II is implicitly required by the bowing indicated on the triplets, something for which one would now be reprimanded at an exam... they tell you: "Write 'arco'". And yet there are bowing marks.
