I suggest Genoa. There is the sea, yes, but in terms of liveliness it's the only one that wouldn't make me miss Milan (without having to move too far)

Tomorrow both places will be open.

So, to recap:

If we go to Focacceria San Francesco (despite the name, you can sit comfortably at a table), it is located in Via San Paolo at the corner of Via Hoepli

[stop ‘Duomo’ on line 1 and we will wait in the shade under the porticos in front of the Hoepli bookstore]

If we go to il chiosco di Pippo [stop ‘Palestro’ on line 1 and we will wait near the entrance of the natural history museum (inside the park)... where there are statues of these two beautiful alpine creatures, see photo]

in both cases I will be there from 13:00
a time that seems to me in line with Giovanni's needs.

Let me know (having made the proposals, I step back from the choice)

It makes no difference to me, but I just spoke with Ale and assessed that both he and Giovanni would be on the Gialla [Yellow line], Duomo seems like the best solution to me ... even for a little sightseeing tour

Anyway guys, regarding Via San Paolo, if I'm not mistaken, the best exit is San Babila. You will have to take one stop on the red line or walk a little bit.

no no. it's quite the same.

nothing red line if you arrive from the yellow line. go straight up to the surface at 'Duomo'.

If you exit the metro at 'Duomo', you have to walk 550 m towards Corso Vittorio Emanuele and, shortly after the apse, turn left into Via San Paolo

If you exit the metro at 'San Babila', you have to walk 450 m taking Via Matteotti

(in that case, watch out not to faint from the stench-perfume when you pass in front of Abercrombie)
