A few days ago I found myself commenting on an article titled "What is music?" on the online newspaper Huffington Post. I was happy because it was the first explicitly musicological article, and the author seemed like an expert.
As more articles appeared, my worst nightmares materialized...
So I wanted to share my frustration with you :-)

So far Giammarino has written 4 articles, in my opinion, one worse than the next. They are complicated, and that in itself is a flaw in my view, and they are unnecessarily complicated, given that they often say banal things.
First article
http://www.huffingtonpost.it/giovanni-giammarino/musica-suono_b_5372182.html
What is music? Who knows. It's a fairly common opinion.
Second article
http://www.huffingtonpost.it/giovanni-giammarino/musica-romanticismo-beethoven_b_5400346.html
The world has not understood Beethoven, but it has imitated him, and believe me because I am telling you with complex big words... well, this sentence is true for any musician's surname ("the world has not understood Chopin but it has imitated him", "the world has not understood Monteverdi but it has imitated him", "the world has not understood Berio but it has imitated him").
Third article
http://www.huffingtonpost.it/giovanni-giammarino/ascolto-suono-musica_b_5452448.html
Philosophical fluff. Also quite common and, in my opinion, useless.
Fourth article
http://www.huffingtonpost.it/giovanni-giammarino/kant-sonata-classica-_b_5492173.html
Kant and the classical sonata. Kant writes his books at least 30 years after the birth of the sonata form (and over a period of at least 10 years), but since anything goes in philosophy, let's make free mental associations. Using complicated words they say "the sonata form is organicistic". My goodness, what a scoop!
Beware of musicologists
