Let's go have a good meal at the fraschette in Ariccia; I know it's right behind your house, but you eat well, have fun, and spend the right amount.

I think it's been a long time since you've been... The fraschette have become little joints with checkered tablecloths and plastic wild boar on the walls, outside of which girls in miniskirts act as "door-touts." One continues to eat quite poorly and, in the price, now includes being taken for a fool. Perhaps the kiosk before the bridge is still okay, but in Ariccia, I would only visit the palace of the ius primae noctis and Bernini's square; for the rest, I would go elsewhere.

I wouldn't want to "break" [the silence/routine] due to "logistical problems," aside from the fact that during this period I don't really feel like going out; I have years of accumulated sleep deprivation and I am exhausted.

The "logistical problems," for those who didn't understand what they are about, are the ones a citizen encounters in Italy when the public transport service is what it is,

all things that wouldn't happen in another country, so there would be no sense in going out only to have to keep checking the schedule and the last (which might be cancelled) bus;

then there's no point even mentioning (because I don't want others to act as drivers) having someone accompany me; they already make me feel handicapped despite walking (and quite a lot)

with my own legs, because it doesn't seem necessary to me.

Even if I am not one of those who goes out assiduously—on the contrary, I always "thank" the great availability of transport in the province—at a certain hour you are left stranded from everything.

Perhaps the kiosk before the bridge is still worth saving, but in Ariccia, I would only visit the palace of the ius primae noctis and Bernini's square; for the rest, I would go elsewhere.

And how can I tell you you're wrong? I live in Ariccia... You shouldn't paint everyone with the same brush, but in most cases, it is exactly like that. Where you eat well, it doesn't cost little at all; in fact, it doesn't take much to go even beyond 30 euros per person. In any case, the places are pits carved out of basements or garages and the quality of the people is perfectly up to the standard of the place: drunks, blasphemers... That's what Ariccia has become. Once they used to mock us for the story of the bridge of death where someone would jump off every now and then; now instead, it's for the fraschette (which should be in Trastevere) rather than the historic center of Ariccia, which has much better things to show. The ridiculous thing is that residents in central Rome call us Ariccians "burini" [low-class/country bumpkins], lucky them! Eating 4 meager cold cuts and a slice of porchetta per person and being ripped off for 20 euros... Do you understand what "burini" means?

Anyway, getting back to us, please post only sign-ups for the dinner because I can't make heads or tails of it anymore. In a topic dedicated to those coming to dinner, one only reads about people saying they cannot come...

The beauty of the Internet TheSimon, distances are canceled out but a unique location on a unique date will never suit everyone.

A list of the "Romans of Rome" (send it to me) can be derived, I would work at least on that. I am out of the game... unfortunately...

Great idea, truly very much appreciated.

I'm in and, if I had to guess, I'd say let's take advantage of the weekend! So, starting from the end of the month—using Sunday as a reference point just for convenience—of those who could come, how many would be interested on May 18th? How many on the 25th?

Let's put it to a vote and evaluate the potential turnout

Rereading all those who have given certain confirmation, we should be:

-gpr (Gino): proposes a Friday/Saturday/Sunday (not June 20th)

-Terenzio

-Paolo: no, he is not available from May 3rd to 6th and on May 16th, nor from June 22nd to 28th

-Andry

-Simone

-Me: I propose a Saturday/Sunday (Friday is more problematic for me).

So we could do one of these days (which are Saturdays and Sundays).

MAY: 10-11 ; 17-18 ; 24-25 ; 31-1(June)

JUNE: 7-8 ; 14-15 ; 21-22 ; 28-29

what do you think?

I would propose June essentially for three reasons:

1) The days are starting to be warmer and less uncertain in terms of weather.

2) We give more time to other members to be able to participate in the initiative

3) Some people might be on vacation and reach us even from slightly more decentralized locations.

However, I would start proposing a date that works for everyone... What do you think? So that we have a meeting day already defined.

If I have to express a preference, the last weekend of June or the one before it (including Fridays) would be fine with me.

I would set it for June 28th... We have 2 months' notice... Is that okay with everyone who needs to come?

Ok, so who has time to make a histogram? The day with the highest attendance is confirmed.

Is there the possibility to upload an .xlsx file where everyone can give their consent?

So, do we want to make this happen?...

"The Simon", take action and tell us a day! Just so we can organize ourselves...
