True, very inspired. Well done Frank! What's the other one?

Thank you Faria, the other one will arrive... don't despair. In the meantime, there are 6 others to look at

For the roll call, I am missing 3 pieces:

- RStrauss

- CromaDiBrera

- TheSimon

...who are pretending nothing is happening

I sent you that little bit I wrote that was sh... Honestly, I don't have any remaining time to dedicate myself to it even though I would have liked to continue. If you want, you can publish the little that there is. After all, why be ashamed? It's not like I'm a composer!

My theory teacher always used to say that writing something that is truly terrible is a very difficult task.

Of course, then there is coherence, etc. ... composer nonsense.

... in the meantime, compliments to the participants for their commitment, I will enjoy them at my leisure.

Ale, I really like your ... too, I only suffer a little bit from the response, it seems a bit low compared to everything else which is certainly interesting.

A bit jarring or am I wrong?

Comment to Jam Session's

I don't dislike it, perhaps the accompaniment being always the same gets tiring after a while; instead, I like the idea you had of varying the harmony when the melody appears between 9-12

Comment on Margherita1's

It seems a little bit fast to me, I'm sorry it's missing a B, but apart from a bit of harmonic staticity in the response, it flows well. The closing, however, I like very much and it works well too.

Comment on RaffaeleB's

... so this is what you've made of the topic on sonata form

You seem to be continuously improving and compared to the previous one, it definitely has an extra gear. There is just one thing: I feel a distance between the two themes; I'm not strictly talking about the technical execution, but in terms of character. Perhaps this contrast was intentional, but maybe the second one is too festive, bright—a matter of taste.

Anyway, in general, I sense quite a bit of Sicily in it, a bit like the links you shared with us... well done

A bit like Raffaele, I expected it ... I had a feeling he was working on it

In my opinion, he understood well how to exploit such a form and it helped him propose something more credible compared to the previous piano works that I had listened to

I thank everyone for the comments.

You are right, I exploited the sonata form.

I like learning the classical style.

The thing that makes me sad is not knowing how to play the piano.

But tell me something. Does it sound good playing it on the piano or is it a bit difficult?

Frank's recording and performance style are impeccable, Gozzo's harmonic elaboration is interesting.

Of course. The distance is intentional to create contrast between the first and second theme and between the exposition and development.

I hope I kept the attention alive until the end...

Speaking of those absent... Whatever happened to Geppino?

For jam sessions

I like the swing you used

But I notice that the bass is too loud compared to the theme.

There should be a dynamic balance.. Or am I wrong?

In short, less weight on the left.

Of course, it's just a little piece you wrote, but it's pleasant nonetheless

FOR RAFFAELEB

I went free by instinct, it is an extemporaneous composition and with regret I cannot even provide the score.

It is clear that through my music I express my own conception of harmony and perhaps even a way of being in a broad sense.

Keep in mind that my piano is tuned to 432 Hz.

this type of tuning inspires me much more.

I am leaving for Greece soon for concerts and will be a bit absent from the forum for a few days, then I will listen to everything and give my opinion.

Comment on processing 4 (Frank's nocturne):

here, this is exactly the piece as I would have wanted to write it: clean, regular, easily intelligible in both form and harmony.

and the beautiful thing is that this general "squareness" is not arid, but very well enhances the great taste and inspiration with which you handled the thematic idea.

i would like your opinion on how I interpret the structure, which is obviously ABA.

A (double period of 16 bars)

a - presentation in A-

b - continuation in E- (by continuation I mean the continued presence of the previous material, but with a sense of progression, fragmentation, liquidation)

a' - reprise of the theme

c - new continuation, which anyway quickly transforms into the cadential phase.

B (16 bars + 4 for retransition)

new thematic material and new texture, more contrapuntal.

although I don't see the characteristics of a development, it has a sonority that recalls it, and this is very fascinating, also because the formal construction does not seem very different from A.

A'

reprise with 2 truly excellent touches: the change of register in the first 4 bars and the idea of repeating the subsequent 4 from the beginning of B.

very bravo !
