I would like to know how many composers or aspiring ones are registered to the forum, but also self-taught enthusiasts etc. who are interested in the subject.

I am asking because I would like to launch this initiative; I would like to propose a 4-bar theme (something simple for piano) and compare the pieces we write (I'll join the queue first).

Some points of reflection on the purpose of the initiative:

- Starting from the same point and comparing works produced by people with different (or similar) study paths

- Comparing one's own solutions with those adopted by others

- Stimulating the curiosity of less experienced members

- Getting used to forming a critical sense towards others' pieces and receiving constructive criticism

- I will open a topic where we can address difficulties together

- spreading one's own music

- getting to know each other; it is one thing to hear about Frank, and another to listen to Frank's music

- sharing and pleasure (in short, writing a piece not for work, study, or exams)

- Etc.

It will be necessary to produce a score and a playback because there might be those who do not know how to play the pf... and, above all for the less experienced, it is better to have support (even if "unskilled") for listening. There are those who might even propose live performances ๐Ÿ˜‰

To participate, I would not set any kind of limit other than a deadline; let's say the end of May, so as to leave plenty of time for sign-ups and for working on it.

Let me know if I am proposing something out of this world and we will see what needs to be done... I hope at least questions, objections, etc. come in.

ok, I'll play the critic ๐Ÿ˜„

I see that the word Jazz appears in your alias; it is not excluded that the theme could also lend itself to the jazz field, it depends on your abilities... so I tell you "too easy" only because I know it would take you 3 minutes to improvise a 3-minute piece

Jazz musicians are those who cannot use the excuse of lack of time.

Jokes aside, it would be nice to have a minimum repertoire of pieces and anyway have many listeners and "critics" who might eventually make comments on the playability... then if some pianist wanted to even record the piece they like/are interested in most, it would be ideal for this first proposal ๐Ÿ˜‰

Beautiful initiative... A question... Is it open only to composers? Perhaps there aren't many composers here, for pianists we might have a better chance. I would like to participate and, in fact, if in the end they could check me for any errors and suggest solutions, I would be very grateful. Maybe this could be an initiative just to get to know each other; later, perhaps we could organize a prize competition on this theme. It wouldn't be bad at all. Clearly, this site is very young, so some of these initiatives (I am referring to an online competition) will be feasible when we have a larger user base. But we are growing fast, it's just a matter of waiting a little bit... Thank you for the beautiful initiative.

Anyone can participate as far as I'm concerned; I cannot reveal anything, but you will see that there will be material to study.

I will soon open the topic with the theme and the "conditions"; we could exchange all the opinions we want... in the end, criticism will be a stimulus to improve...

... the competition introduces different mechanisms; it is truly too premature, but if the prerequisites are met, perhaps we can move forward in other areas as well. I had indeed proposed the piece for piano, evaluating the nature of the site ๐Ÿ˜‰

Indeed, if there were a volunteer to perform the best pieces (or all of them?), it would be a good start and a nice prize... trust me ๐Ÿ˜‰

After all, there are already two of us; if GnazzJazz wanted to get his hands dirty... we would reach 3.

Clearly the theme could be tempting, but it's hard to commit blindly... I'll move to action, I've already identified a nice and easy one ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok, I offer to record the most deserving ones if you want... And I will gladly participate in the initiative. So let's get to work... Let's wait for these 4 bars and see how the matter evolves and how many will participate.

Watch out, or you'll actually have to do it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ahaha and what problems are there? Don't worry, the problem will be writing something sensible, at least for me... eheh

I would like to participate, but I have just tackled harmonic studies and therefore.... I wouldn't want to make an useless mess. Great idea anyway. Bye and thanks.

Tuning and harmony, I have never studied them. We can try, and through goodwill, music will close an ear ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was joking, but I was being serious, in the sense that I am only a "listener", but something could still be attempted...

But of course you can try... Why am I a composer? Not at all! But it's a game, you have fun and learn something, so why not give it a try? Especially since one can decide to remain anonymous. However, I hope that at least some of the best anonymous ones will eventually make a name for themselves, at least for some musical ideas we'll know who to turn to! eheheh

By the way, do you think it's worth sending a mass email to all subscribers to promote this initiative, which seems very nice to me?

A grave is a grave, it will be up to those interested to declare themselves if they deem it appropriate... otherwise nothing, only the notes will remain ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here I am Frank ... the piece is already ready.

Given past experiences, I think it would be appropriate to post the usual warning to those who are unfamiliar with this type of initiative, namely that there are no discounts and the truth is told ... pats on the back serve no one.

Dear TheSimon.... you will soon discover that Frank is another friend who I hope shows himself soon ... they are 2 slave drivers.

If only there were some, I say ๐Ÿ˜‰
