New update, I have prepared a couple of pieces and glued two of them; the left attachment ruler is the strip that supports the fimbria and the other ruler, and I have already prepared the rest of the wood that forms the plug and the attachment strip for the keyboard pins.

The fimbria is a hardwood strip, cut at the keys, where the end parts slide; in originals, these are usually made of bone or other resistant materials, but we use delrin from harpsichord quills. Their function is simply to hold the lever in place so that it does not move tangentially; they are usually made of walnut, though the drawing shows maple... which is actually too hard; in cembalos, they are usually walnut, like the bridges on the soundboard, so I don't know yet if I should make them in oak or use a walnut strip.

That is the side part of the soundbox that will be hidden by the keys; when it is closed with the soundboard, that hole increases the airflow passing through the soundbox.

I am starting to organize myself to also do some work at home; I have various tools, but I need a set of Japanese saws, glue and the container to keep it liquid, and clamps... I have almost everything else, except for the large machines, obviously... However, a thickness planer would be useful... Much more so than a circular or combination saw.

New update, short one today, I finished cutting the boards that will form the soundboard and tomorrow I will glue them, and I also cut a piece of oak to make the fringe; still tomorrow I will mark the points where to cut to allow the key lever plate to pass through, and I also glued another small piece of oak to make the left plug for the clavichord, the whole thing will then be veneered with walnut, left ruler plug and then I will also have to make the upper ruler, to be glued above the fringe, but after finishing the fringe and perhaps even the keyboard.

New flash update: I spent the entire afternoon working with the saw on the fimbria; first I marked the points where the keyboard tabs enter, then I made an initial cut perpendicular to the piece and then I widened all 48 cuts. Tomorrow I will refine them because some are a bit ugly, but in any case, nothing would be seen anyway as the fimbria rests on the spruce strip and then there will be a walnut ruler on top... And maybe I'll start looking for the wood for the keyboard too...
